Sustainable City Lighting Impact and Evaluation Methodology of Lighting Quality from a User Perspective

چکیده
High quality artificial lighting of public places is one the necessary functions sustainable cities. It much more than just providing sufficient light intensity with reduced energy consumption and low environmental impact. The solution to this challenge not only technological, but also requires consideration subjective approach, such as psychological, sociological, aesthetic-functional. article presents SEC (Suitable for everyone, Environmentally-accepted, Cost-effective) methodology model, which are placed in context city lighting. A holistic assessment approach user perception, priorities, spatial responses required evaluate impact night illumination. Lighting efficiency was expressed correspondence between perception utilization during day night. Ten sites different urban background illumination characteristics were selected. assumed that influences responsiveness users. validity argument demonstrated at a relevant statistical level p <0.05. research results provided useful information about current state, needed prepare strategy, could be compared or similar sites. Based on obtained results, it can concluded open spaces high when difference small possible.

Lighting guidelines from lighting quality research
To judge the quality of a lighting installation is to determine how well it meets context-specific goals in the areas of architecture, economics, and individual wellbeing. The goals for individual well-being are behaviours such as task performance, mood, social behaviour, aesthetic judgements and satisfaction, that occur as a result of internal processes influenced by luminous conditions. These...
متن کاملRoadway Lighting Design Methodology and Evaluation
Theoretical methods are usually performed for ideal conditions to determine the illuminance and luminance but other design limitations should be considered in the real world. Also the visibility level is calculated by using background and target luminance under ideal conditions. In reality, there are many factors, which are very difficult to predict and include in lighting design equation. Huma...
متن کاملLighting programme and iranian schools lighting requirements
It is accepted that the visual comfort in schools depends on the quality of the whole visual environment. This leads to the concern upon the quality and quantity of lighting. Currently in Iran, in order to calculate energy transfer for public buildings a coefficient is usually used. This coefficient considers the rate of sunlight energy absorption in these kinds of buildings. To increase the ...
متن کاملComparison of lighting simulation tools with focus on lighting quality
By the rise of concerns for global warming, reducing emissions via lowering energy consumption has become a necessity in every sector and the lighting sector is no exception. However, it should not come at the cost of lighting quality and user comfort which is a common practice in today’s lighting design and energy reduction initiatives. The “energy reduction” view should change toward “value d...
متن کاملPsychological processes influencing lighting quality
Veitch and Newsham proposed a behaviorally-based model for lighting quality research, in which individually-based processes mediate the relationships between luminous conditions and such behavioral outcomes as task performance, mood, social behavior, aesthetic judgements and satisfaction. This review paper summarizes the state of knowledge concerning mediating psychological processes: perceived...
